Jacopo Bassano, also known as, Jacopo da Ponte (c. 1510 – 1592)
Jacopo Bassano was an Italian artist who was best known for his paintings of religious subjects which incorporated landscapes and scenes of everyday life. He took his surname from the village, Bassano del Grappa, where he was born, he also died there in 1592. He had four sons and trained them all to be artists, among them were, Francesco Bassano the Younger and Leandro Bassano.
