Pieter Brueghel the Younger, or, Pieter Bruegel the Younger (1544 – 1638)

Pieter Brueghel the Younger was a Flemish artist and the son of Pieter Brueghel the Elder. He was especially known for copying his father’s works, although he did produce original content, mainly in the forms of landscapes, religious scenes and village life, his paintings were energetic, bold and bright. He ran a large studio in Antwerp which mainly produced affordable copies of his father's work for the local and export markets. This enterprise contributed to the international recognition of his father’s compositions. Brueghel the younger had a son named, Pieter Brueghel III, who was also an artist.
