Kate Elizabeth Bunce (1856 – 1927)
Kate Elizabeth Bunce was an English artist and poet. She was born in Birmingham, England and studied at The Birmingham School of Art. Kate Bunce was associated with the Arts and Crafts movement and exhibited her work throughout England. She was influenced by the likes of Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones, Rossetti and the Pre-Raphaelites, which is apparent in the strong characters that she drew and her use of colours. Later in her life, she painted a series of decorative pieces in churches, often framed by her elder sister, Myra Louisa Bunce, who was a coppersmith.
