Jean-Achille Benouville (1815 – 1891)

Jean-Achille Benouville was a French artist, he painted many French views in the regions of Paris and Compiègne. He later became highly acclaimed for his Italian landscapes. Jean-Achille studied under François-Edouard Picot at the same time as his younger brother, François-Léon. Jean, then went on to study under Léon Cogniet. In 1837, the brothers entered the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
