François-Léon Benouville (1821 – 1859)
François-Léon Benouville was a French artist, noted for his Neoclassical religious compositions and for his painting of Oriental subjects. He studied under artist, François-Edouard Picot, at the same time as his elder brother, Jean-Achille. When he was 16, François-Léon attended the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
