Albert Bierstadt (1830 – 1902)

Albert Bierstadt was a German-American artist who produced exuberant and panoramic landscapes of the American West. He attended a series of explorations to the Westward Expansion and painted what he saw. Although he wasn’t the first artist to record the area, he did become the most important, during the latter part of the 19th century.
