Valerio Castello (1624 – 1659)
Valerio Castello was an Italian draughtsman and painter of the Baroque period and was one of the leading Ligurian artists of his time, (Liguria is a region of north-western Italy, its capital city is Genoa). Castello’s works of mythological and religious subjects came from a broad range of influences.
