Sandro Botticelli, real name, Alessandro di Mariano di Vanni Filipepi (c. 1445 – 1510)

Sandro Botticelli was an Italian artist of the Early Renaissance. He painted a wide range of religious subjects, although these days, he is better known for his mythological works, he also painted a number of portraits. Botticelli was one of the most outstanding painters in the history of Western art. Some of his famous works include, “The Birth of Venus” (c. 1485) and, “Primavera” (c. 1482).
