Rosalba Carriera (1673/75 – 1757)
Rosalba Carriera was an Italian Rococo artist from Venice who specialised in portrait-miniatures in her early career. She later built a lucrative business, producing pastel portraits of the European nobility. Today, many of her pastels are housed in museums and galleries throughout Europe and the US. Carriera is known as one of the most successful female artists of all time.
