Pieter Boel, or, Peeter Boel (1622 – 1674)
Pieter Boel was a Flemish artist who created elegant still-lifes and animal paintings. He painted animals, live and in their usual surroundings, which meant that they could be portrayed in the most natural and characteristic of poses. Pieter had a large following in France.
