Oswald Achenbach (1827 – 1905)
Oswald Achenbach was a German landscape artist. Although not so well known these days, he and his older brother Andreas were considered to be two of the most important landscape artists of their day. Due to their first name initials, they were affectionately known as the Alpha and Omega of landscape painting.
