Jan Abrahamsz Beerstraten (1622 – 1666)
Jan Abrahamsz Beerstraten was a Dutch painter of marine subjects and landscapes, including scenes of war. One of his paintings recounts the scene at “The Battle of Scheveningen”, fought in 1653. This was the final, major battle of the first, Anglo-Dutch war.
