James Bard (1815 – 1897)

James Bard was a 19th century, American marine artist. He was famous for his paintings of steamboats and other types of watercraft. His artworks were described by some as, naive and he was largely overlooked during his lifetime, although, his works have since, become valuable. Bard had a twin brother, John, (1815–1856) and they worked together on earlier paintings.
