Ippolito Caffi (1809 – 1866)

Ippolito Caffi was an Italian painter of architectural subjects and seascapes. He was recognised as one of the 19th century’s greatest and most original painters of vedute. He died aboard the flagship Re d’Italia during the battle of Lissa at the age of 57.
