Hans Baldung, full name, Hans Baldung Grien, or Grun (c. 1484 – 1545)
Hans Baldung was a German artist and printmaker. He was recognised as the most talented student of the German artist, Albrecht Dürer. Baldung had an original style which combined both expression and inspiration, with a rich use of colours. He produced a comprehensive range of works, including portraits, altarpieces, drawings, tapestries and mythological studies.
