Gian Lorenzo Bernini was an Italian artist, sculptor and architect. He was a leading figure in the world of architecture and is widely regarded as the greatest sculptor of the 17th century. He was responsible for the creation of the Baroque style of sculpture and was often compared to Michelangelo. Bernini’s paintings were normally small works, consisting of oil and canvas.
