Gerrit Berckheyde, full name, Gerrit Adriaensz Berckheyde (1638 – 1698)

Gerrit Berckheyde was a Dutch artist of the Dutch Golden Age, active in Haarlem, Amsterdam and The Hague. He was a student of his much older brother, Job Adriaensz Berckheyde. Gerrit painted extremely accurate portrayals of buildings and monuments, particularly those situated in large, open squares.
