François Bonvin (1817 – 1887)

François Bonvin was a French artist, born in Paris. He painted in a realist style and specialised in still-lifes and Genre works. He was influenced by 17th century Dutch art and became friends with fellow artist, Gustave Courbet. Some of Bonvin’s work shows elements of Courbet’s influence on him.
