Francisco Collantes (1599 – 1656)

Francisco Collantes was a Spanish artist of the Baroque period, born in Madrid. He was influenced by the tenebrist, Jusepe de Ribera. Other sources that had an impact on him were the 16th century Venetian artists and the Neapolitan School. Collantes was noted for his landscape paintings and biblical subjects.
