François Boucher (1703 – 1770)

François Boucher was a French artist, draughtsman and etcher. He painted in the Rococo style (also known as late Baroque), Rococo is an extremely decorative and theatrical form of architecture and art. Boucher became famous for his picturesque and sensual paintings on classical themes and his decorative allegories. He also painted bucolic scenes. Boucher was arguably the most celebrated painter of ornamental art in the 18th century.
