Cornelis Bisschop (1630 – 1674)

Cornelis Bisschop was a Dutch Golden Age painter. He is believed to be the first artist to paint carved, trompe l’oeil wooden panels in such an ingenious way, that they became very highly regarded. He also painted still-lifes, historical allegories, portraits and Genre works, (pictures of ordinary people in everyday life situations).
