Bonifacio Veronese, birth name, Bonifazio de’ Pitati (1487 – 1557)

Bonifacio Veronese was an Italian artist of the Renaissance movement. Although he was born in Verona, he was active in Venice where he ran a large workshop. He was heavily influenced by the styles of Titian and Giorgione, in turn, Bonifacio’s work had a significant effect on the younger generation of artists in Venice, particularly, Andrea Schiavone and Jacopo Tintoretto.
