Bartholomeus van Bassen, or, Bartholomeus Corneliszoon van Bassen (1590 – 1652)

Bartholomeus van Bassen was a Dutch artist and architect of the Dutch Golden Age. Little is known about his early life, but it is known that he became a member of the Delft Guild of St Luke in 1613. St Luke was a common name for organisations involving artists and artisans, they were named in honour of the evangelist Luke, the patron saint of artists.
