Aleksey Antropov, full name, Alexei Petrovich Antropov (1716 – 1795)
Aleksey Antropov was a Russian artist, mainly active in St Petersburg. In 1752, he went to Kiev, to help with the restorations in the church of St Andrew, where he painted all of the icons and murals for the iconostasis. He later, went to Moscow where he painted frescoes in the Golovkin Palace. Antropov was also greatly admired for his portraits and miniatures.
