Émile Bernard, full name, Émile Henri Bernard (1868 – 1941)
Émile Bernard was a French Post-Impressionist artist and writer. He began his studies at the École des Arts Décoratifs and in 1884, joined the Atelier Cormon, where he experimented with Impressionism and Pointillism, he is also closely associated with the Cloisonnism and Synthetism art movements. Bernard was able to include Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Eugène Boch and Paul Cézanne among his many eminent friends.
